Pecking Order

My Dear Fellows & Dear Princess,

The Poop Deck is looking pretty bad. We haven't mopped it for ages and it looks like Bird Glastonbury took place out there. 

But the little hairy guys love it. They sit with their noses pressed up against the glass and keep an eye on all the bird life.

Today I tried to take a picture of a starling feeding his chick, but this is the best I could do. Birds are not very compliant when it comes to blip.

Speaking of birds, today we watched Pecking Order. This is one of those - "is this actually a Christopher Guest documentary?" - type documentaries. But it turns out it is all true. 

It is about the bitter internal political wranglings within the Christchurch Pigeon, Poultry & Canary Club. The world of Show-Chicken Competitions is so VERY competitive. I never knew. Let's just say there are a fair few characters in this film and leave it at that.

I'm glad we are having a quiet day today. Big things afoot for tomorrow...
