A virtue - patience

I guess patience is still a virtue - and necessary when waiting to pick up gear at the Apple store. How did we ever wait for anything before smart phones and tablets? Whatever did we do? Is it possible to wait with nothing to occupy our hands and minds? Would our world end if we actually spent some time with nothing to do? Who knows - I suspect we will never find out.
