Some of you may recall my blip where I was making my own mixed peel for my own mincemeat....I’m not a mince pie fan but Chris and my sister are, so today I added the final ingredients to the fruit that has been soaking in brandy for two weeks. I will make my first batch of mince pies on Sunday. This mincemeat contains no suet and I’ve used benecol butter. The pastry will be wholemeal...Chris has slightly high cholesterol and he’s being very conscious of his eating and has lost 2 stone since August simply by eating clean and I’ve lost a few lbs as well so that’s a Brucey bonus!!
