Twin stairs

I don't think I've ever noticed this unusual corner staircase in the New Town and I must have walked past it hundreds of times. There is only one opening in the fence and the stairs go down from it in two different directions into flats whose addresses are in two separate streets.
Like many flats in this area too, there are actually two levels of basement. If you look to the left in the extra, you can see another staircase going down another level.
The angles and symmetry of it all are very pleasing.

Walked from Jenners to Easter Road and then back to Stockbridge today
