Time & Distance
Our son is eighteen today this is a milestone in any young persons life but holding particular significance for military personnel.
Today Joshua becomes old enough to be deployed to areas of conflict/combat and thinking about that brings a kind of ‘hollow’ feeling into the pit of my stomach. I now understand how my parents felt as I and my brother, a former paratrooper, spent year upon year in various ‘hotspots’ around the globe.
But enough of that, 18, a reason to celebrate except that he is on the east coast of Kent and we are in West Cornwall a phone call will have to suffice until we catch up with him in Chatham on Thursday.
Looking forward to seeing him.
