The day just goes...
Just back form representing the Parish Council at the village Luncheon Club for the elderly.
Yes, I'm probably in that ball-park now, but I was there as Councillor. A very pleasant lunch of three courses and plentiful liquid refreshment too. The local primary school sent their singing club and we were serenaded to a feast of festive pop songs, and there was a raffle where it seemed every ticket had a prize!
Somehow an entire day seems to have gone by, and I'm now madly preparing for the extra ordinary council meeting this evening, where we will seek to agree with the village hall the transfer of the title to the hall and playing field to the newly established (or perhaps soon to be established) Charitable Incorporated Organisation that will henceforth own and operate the facility.
It's been a thing, carrying out all the legal due diligence checks to ensure we are doing the right thing. Get it wrong and we've just handed hundreds of thousands of pounds of community asset over to a private charity in error. But I think we've done everything to make this work.
Anyway, in between, I've walked home to see the most lovely golden hour view across the playing field. Time will tell, but I trust the view will remain.
