wild & precious life

A Christmassy Corbridge

Had a lovely walk around Corbridge with mum & dad who were visiting. The rain didn't dampen our enjoyment.

It was lovely to see that all the shops were displaying stickers to show that they are striving to be dementia-aware. Really clear signs in the coffee shop, for example, helped my dad who could otherwise have got lost on his way to the toilets. We enjoyed scones and tea there after a walk around the shops. The bookshop was a delight in the old chapel and we all opted to wear flashing headphones as it was "silent disco Saturday"! Again, my dad loved this idea and the Christmas music that was being played through them!

Sadly we missed the carols in the church and the Christmas tree exhibition! It just means we will have to head back there again soon!

We bought some delicious Christmas cake and mince pies from the bakery to have back at home after dinner. I'm definitely feeling Christmassy now!

The blip shows the old tower which is now an interesting micropub!
