"Honey, I shrunk Papa Tee"

This is an iphone shot my wife took of me from the Broad Museum in LA.

Called Under The Table, this exhibit puts the viewer both in the world of imaginary giants and remembered childhood. Fusing Alice in Wonderland with the readymade, Robert Therrien constructs a doppelganger from an everyday object,  displaying his visual wit  in three-dimensions. The sculpture compels you  to walk underneath and brings back the memory of being under the table in your childhood home.

Being so damned big, the work offers a fresh idea of what a table, sculpture, and memory can mean.
