Band rehearsal

Today was the first rehearsal Katie could make for our church Christmas Children’s band. We have the travelling nativity set with us tonight so Mary, Joseph and Jesus joined us too!

She’s had a busy day- she started out with extra exam practise for clarinet with her accompanist (who is her director and also an examiner). Everyone concerned was relieved to see a big improvement in her aural this week, as well as a nice job on her pieces.

Normal full day of lessons. She was very pleased because just before improv class she was playing Walking in the Air on the piano while they waited. The teacher came in and heard her, suggested they use it and she’s now accompanying the piece. She’s now been signed up for four pieces in the end of term concert next weekend.

Straight back off to practise for band then home for a couple of jobs and a snuggle with a movie. Which I fell asleep during.
