born to gaze into night skies
I didn't go to Manchester in the end - spontaneity is alright until it comes to cost and I couldn't justify spending so much money on a 24 hour trip. Oh well, I will make it back there in January to catch up with my buds :)
So instead, I lazed about in bed for quite a bit this morning, read my book, cleaned the flat and when I decided that all those activities would amount to a pretty boring weekend, I decided to head to the Barbican to catch the "Everything was moving" photography exhibition. It was really awesome - we're all aware of the mainstream stuff going on in those decades, but the photographers in the exhibition were from around the world and showed a different perspective on what was going on. My favourites were Bruce Davidson's images of North America during the Civil Rights movement, Graciela Iturbide's portrayals of Mexico - modern and traditional living side by side and all the brilliant colours in Raghubir Singh's pictures of Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. Nice bit of stuff.
The blip is of Moorgate station, which I passed through on my way to the exhibition.
