A Happy and Prosperous Diwali!

Our arrival in Kolkata 0n 11th November happily coincided with the start of the 5-day festival of Diwali/Deepavali, which in Kolkata is very much associated with the Puja of the goddess Kali.

This welcoming sign overlooked our arrival at Kolkata Airport as we loaded our bags into the first of many tourist buses that would take us to our hotels and local attractions at each stop on our Indian Railway adventure across the Subcontinent from Kolkata to Amritsar.
