It's Christmas

I've had my Christmas dress on 3 times already and it's only the 2nd! Todays occasion was the Saltaire Lights Switch on. It's impressive how many turn out for the event, and happily go outside for the moment when the tree is lit. Actually it's inappropriately named as it's much more than a light switch on, it's about supporting local charities and businesses, with entertainment from bands and school choirs and of course the mighty Wurlitzer.

Our WI group has always had a stall and this year we were asked to do hot drinks, no cake allowed though so as not to upset local businesses. It made our job easy and we raised much needed funds to the local mental health charity, the Cellar Trust who sadly had a fire in their building so are needing extra support.
