Best friends for life

Going through my stuff made me rediscover the pictures I inherited from a very dear aunt. This picture was taken today 110 years ago. She and her sister were devoted to each other, even if life separated them often. The last years of their life they lived together again.
My aunt was an elegant intelligent and courageous Highschool teacher born in 1899. a very talented  educator too. I inherited her library in 1993 with about a 1000 books and the beautiful bookcase they were in too. It has moved with me from Hamburg to Reno. Now it will be up in Oregon
