Sailing in with the tide,

I was fortunate to see the family of swans sail up a gulley as the tide was coming into Elizabeth Dock. This family has been around Maryport harbour and river Ellen all summer. they were in convoy with the male swan leading the way, they had to stop from time to time as they were quicker than the tide. I would appear that it will not be too long before the plumage on the young members turns white.
