A night visitor

When I unlocked the backdoor this morning to let Tess out I noticed something moving.  A toad must have slipped in last night when I took the dog round the garden last thing. Fortunately it hadn't dried out and was moving well so I picked it up and put it in a pile of damp leaves outside.

It is strange how toads are attracted to the backdoors of dwellings.  In every house I have lived in there has always been one of these animals just outside often sheltering under something and I love them!

Tim and family are still away so we had a relaxing day.  The weather was very mild - too mild for this time of year - and there is mud everywhere.
