Home Sweet Home...

After 5 weeks of travelling - and very enjoyable travelling, I must say - it's still good to get home. I live near Sunderland and this is my wife's home town. This shot was taken through the window of a Boeing 777-300 of Emirates as it positioned itself for an 'into the wind' landing at Newcastle Airport.

The new (1998) Stadium of Light, home ground of Sunderland AFC is clearly visible. The stadium name is often mispronounced. Not by me, I hasten to add but as an MUFC supporter born in Newcastle I find it difficult to control myself sometimes.

Snapped a lot of shots on the 7 hour flight from Dubai this morning. Perhaps the most interesting was a couple of Basra Airport (Iraq) and the new football/sports stadium in the town. Lots of snow capped mountain pics around Prague and old East German borders too.
