Schomberg Landmark
The big orange feed elevator is a Schomberg, Ontario landmark. It can be seen for miles around and pinpoints the town on the map. It also signified the end of a long car ride was near (we lived nearby). The elevator on which this fantastic model was based still exists but it no longer functions as a livestock feed dispenser. It's been used as other businesses including a motorcycle repair shop. Schomberg is my hometown and where I went to elementary school. I grew up on a small farm about 5 miles (8 km). Once in a while I'd ride my bike to school and home again. The trickiest part was crossing Highway 9 which was quite a busy road at times.
