Institutions

I know it’s not a great photo but I wasn’t expecting to blip the brides feet.

I loved seeing her little trainers under a gorgeous wedding dress.

One institution.

Another? Elbows played a ‘Get out of jail’ game to raise money for a locally-based cancer charity. They raised thousands but he had to hang out in a mock prison.

Two institutions.

He’s also had an unexpected operation on his hand under a general anaesthetic but he was home this evening, after many hours hanging around the hospital for a quick operation and he’s now groggy and in pain but fixed up.

Three institutions.

We moved my mother into a care home for 2 weeks respite. It’s been an emotional and draining week of family communication. She’s ok. My sister isn’t convinced that she is, but I visited her and she was calm and peaceful.

Four institutions.

And school, I seem to be there half of the available evenings.

Five institutions.

So basically, I am institutionalised. Perhaps we all are ...
