History revealed

When I first moved here in 1977 this building in Ely was a lovely old fashioned baker's shop on the ground floor with a tea room upstairs. Since then it has been many different shops; shoes, ladies fashions, cards, gifts ... The fascia changed with each business but I had never seen the original before today. It seems it was a bank - but not one I had heard of. I checked it, the Capital and Counties Bank was founded in 1877 and closed when taken over by Lloyds in 1918.
