Gotcha!

Having lost my nerve as to the adequacy of insulation for the upgraded garden tap, thought I ought to check where we might need to install an underground isolator and maybe even put one in.  Found the old sewer from the caravans and after a bit of delicate archaelogical dig style clearance found the water main (without puncturing it! - small black sliver showing to the left of the brown pipe) which I had hoped had been laid in the same trench.  However, having laid sewer and water pipe together, they seem to have back-filled with the same runway concrete lumps as had come out of the ground and I decided not to risk puncturing the old imprerial sized water pipe by digging out a couple of giant concrete lumps lying on it in the bottom left of the picture.  Also it was sloping down into the ground, so not a good spot to install an isolator and access box.  Quick back fill and at least I know where it is if we need to get at it in the winter.  Ordered the pipe fittings to cap it or fit an isolator in emergency (when we are deep in snow and whole house supply turned off until fixed.....).  Never a dull moment.
