Against all odds.
I went to the gym a bit late this morning, and as I walked through the door, I heard someone call my name. It was Des, who was sitting in the coffee shop, chatting to his walking football mates. He said he could spare ten minutes with me in the gym, so we went on the rower, which when you consider his age, and the fact he was working at 1 o'clock, isn't bad going. When he left, I went to get my headphones, and then got on the bike. I was cycling away merrily, like you do, when John appeared, so more chat, as I haven't seen him for ages. When I left, I walked into town, as I had to pick up our prescriptions form Boots. That was a long wait, which really winds me up, and then I walked up to Aldi, where I met J. After that, we called down to see our g/daughter, to give her her Advent calendar, which I have been doing since she was small. At this point, I didn't have a blip, but when I went to put the towels on the line, yes, I am a bit of an optimist, I saw this tiny rose bud, still surviving against all odds.
