Cactus Buddy

I started this cactus from a nubbin back in 1994.
It has been my professional office companion for18 years and followed me into retirement for the last six and a half years.
The main body of the plant began to fail in the last two years, quite possibly due to its advanced age and less than optimal environment.
Peripheral portions of the plant are healthy and happy.
I spent the morning taking my old cactus friend apart and excising the "deadwood" while replanting the already re-rooted healthy parts.
I hope a long quiet winter indoors will give my old buddy a new start on our next 25 years together!
