Lil Peanut

This may be the beginning of a beautiful relationship  ; )

I see a lot of squirrels...and I mean A LOT of squirrels.  Now and then it is easy to see one that tugs at my heart strings.  Recently, two have been standing out to me...one little female has no tail (it has been 'stripped') and this little one who is very tiny in comparison to the others, and has such a uniquely brown coat.

Meet Peanut.  This evening, I spent about 30 mins in the woods (until I realized that I had forgotten my phone at work and had to go back!) and she followed me.  Everywhere.  Yes, I know that she wanted peanuts...lots of peanuts (hence her name), but the fact that she was willing to cross other territories to follow me?  And her cute little hopping run?

I think she is worthy of many special trips.  Who knows, maybe she will eventually permit me to pet her like Hazel did. Maybe not.

In the meantime, it has started to snow  : )
