Knotted up
Bright and sunny with none of the expect high winds.
We had a drive up the Coast this morning to Peñiscola, Valencia. We went to the Plays where it has a very wide, long Promenade, sand dunes and lovely beaches. Quiet at this time of year of course. A very smart resort and well maintained. We called for a coffee and then had a good walk taking in the scenery. Stopped to have our picnic lunch in the beautiful sunshine.
The main picture of the rope handrail on one of the 'bridges' over the water in the beaches. The extra is towards the Town and the 13th Century Castle with views of the Coast and Artillery Park, which is full of Lavender and Olive trees. Peñiscola is set in the South d'Irta Natural Park which includes woodlands and Torre Badúm Watchtower. Our next visit here will be to the Town.
Then a little further on to Benicarlò a little further on which has a decent sized working fishing port plus the usual array of leisure boats.
A lovely day out.
