Blists Hill Victorian Town

It’s that C************* time again and we had our annual NADFAS day out and turkey dinner.

This year a change of venue, the Victorian restaurant at the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust industrial town, created to show clearly what life was like in the year 1900.

Shops, houses, other buildings and important elements of the days of the Industrial Revolution have been lovingly restored and brought to life by appropriately clad Victorian shopkeepers, pub landlord, drapers and bakers.

The photo is of the fitting room in the drapers. A lovely 80 year old lady has this shop, in partnership with another lady, and she keeps it immaculate. “It’s her life’s work” we were told.

A fabulous day, in spite of the awful rain and damp darkness.

And my first turkey, C******** pudding and mince pie.
