It is my intention, and my hope, that this evening I shall finally conclude my detailed study of Hergé's Adventures of Tintin. I am not so much of a collector to have sourced rare copies of “Tintin in the land of the Soviets” nor “Tintin in the Congo”. There is valid reason why these two early works have never been re-invented.
Prior to this, I conducted a similar, though slightly less detailed study of Asterix, as the proud custodian of Peter Kessler's Complete Guide and all the volumes (worth having) mentioned therein.
And before that, quite a lot of Raymond Briggs.
There are a handful of Snowy cells I would love to source and have replicated as metre square prints to adorn the big blank wall in the tiny flat. It remains to be seen how far I get with that.
Thereafter, I shall use my sparkly new library ticket to borrow from the local lending library books with more words than pictures, curl up in my Goldilocks armchair and rediscover the joy of reading text.
I have learned today that this forthcoming weekend Rochester will be hosting its annual Dickens Festival. It seems that Charles Dickens lived in Rochester for some time and that several of his novels are based here, and not always in London, as I had presumed.
Notwithstanding, I suspect that the leap from Hergé to Dickens might be a bit much all in one go.

And my final word on those gates;
