Ducked
Went twitching today to a reserve that was new to me - Anglers Country Park near Wakefield. It was a cold crisp day with beautiful light. I went there because there were reports of 3 birds I hadn't yet blipped. Sadly, I saw only one and that was so far away that it was just a smudge on the attempted shot. I may live to regret not blipping the smudge, but I decided I'd rather risk it and go with a better shot. (goosander, incidentally, was blip no 1) on the up side, I really enjoyed my day out and saw some lovely waterfowl - goldeneye, again, lots of wigeon whistling away, scrapping herons, tufties, teal and pochard. Not much chance to go twitching over the next few days so unlikely to add to my tally.
