It is Friday
A very new sound last night at Burgundy's in Kendal - The Trefor Owen Quartet. Apart from being a Welsh speaking guy fro Anglesey which means he must be good, he is a brilliant guitarist and you can listen to him here on the left.
And it was the combination of him and Andy Hulme that provided a very distinctive jazz sound.
And I have not mentioned Liam Byrne yet ( to the right in the above sketch) and his rich and mellow tenor sax - he is playing here with the Broomfield Byrne Hot 6.
And the bass was provided by the very talented Dave Turner
And of course Ted entertained in the interval - "A plaice swallowed 2 small icbergs - one said to the other what are you doing in this place!!" . Ok it sounded better as this was the punchline in a long story!!
