St Andrews Day
Well its St Andrews Day today celebrated as the feast of St Andrew normally celebrated by people flying the St Andrews Cross flag (Saltire) which was adopted as the national flag of Scotland after the battle of Athelestaneford in832AD after a vision of St Andrew who had been crucified on a cross promising victory to the Pictish King Oengus II the next morning the Picts saw a white cross of clouds in a blue sky and that's how the flag came about before there victory so my blip for the day is of the St Andrews Cross celebrating our national day
