Diary of an Edinburgher

Becky came to take Archie out this morning, but I made a mistake, and told him at a few minutes to 10am, but she was coming at 10.30am. And half an hour in a dog's life, waiting at the window, is just Too Long. But there was No Way he could be 'untold'. We tried to distract him with a wee dish of kibble. Nope. Playing with a toy? Nope. He was crying and barking, getting increasingly more desperate as time went on. At last Becky came and he just about knocked her over on the path. The neighbours must hear this crying and think he's being tortured. Then I put his coat on, and he stood stock still in the hall, even when Becky and I went to gate! I had to nudge him out, when he soon forgot about the embarrassment.

Apart from the bike, and emptying rubbish, I’ve done nothing much today. A dreich morning, weak sun in the afternoon, but not enough to lure me out. Oh, I did sort out a drawer full of tee shirts. I don’t think I need quite so many...

I watched the third episode in a series about the Assad Regime. Very interesting, especially as it's all been filmed and documented. What a mess.

Christine arrived to return a bag she'd borrowed the other day. Inside was a wee box... and inside that were these marshmallow birds that she'd been 'practising' making. How clever! Archie was allowed to look at them, and then they were gone. Perhaps she'll need to 'practise' a bit more...
