(Hips and) Haws
The winter-visiting flocks of Redwings and Fieldfares have not reached this part of Cumbria yet, though I have seen a few. I assume this has much to do with the benign weather so far this autumn. When they do arrive they will discover a feast of fruit and berries. Owing to the spectacularly warm summer this year the haws are super-abundant, and bigger than I think I have ever seen - more lie cherries.
