Tower clock

Most tower clocks have now been electrified but this one from Bicker still has its complete mechanical mechanism. It has to be wound twice a week. It has become increasingly difficult to find people willing to take on such a commitment. I spent the morning at the Salvation Army café. Two Romanians were having problems and we could only communicate via Google translate and a few words of Italian. One of them had three children and no food and the other wanted to get back to Romania but had no money. Once we could understand the problems, after giving them breakfast and two meal tickets for the bus station café, I was able to take them round to Citizens Advice for further help.
