Shaldon
We took the bus to Teignmouth this morning then walked to the ferry for the crossing to Shaldon. It was real November weather, cold wind, threat of rain and grey, we both wrapped up well in our cold-weather gear.
At Shaldon we headed for The Ness pub for a comfy sit by their log fire and a cup of tea/coffee. It was nice relaxing with the papers.
We then walked down into the village for lunch at The Clipper. Fisherman's Pie and veg, yum.
After lunch we decided to get the ferry back to Teignmouth, there was a bit of a wait until I rang the ferry mobile and he came across the estuary, a bit like calling a taxi I suppose. I'm surprised the ferry still runs this time of year when custom is very low.
After a walk along Back Beach and a spot of shopping we took the bus back to Dawlish where I bought a new pair of Crocs and we went into Le Cygne cafe for a coffee. Yes I know, there hasn't been much happening between cafe visits, but hey, the weather is inclement and we are on holiday!
The picture is taken on Shaldon beach whilst we waited for the ferry, the Ness is in the background.
