Lest we forget
We have beautiful and oh so delucate Flanders poppies growing in our church garden.
They flowered at just the right time this year, so I wore a posy of them on my stole when I gave the reflection at the community Remembrance Service.
For the eagle eyed amongst you, the flowers are sitting on that very reflection.
This seems to have been a year to remember those who weren't visibly injured by wars, but who carry the scars in their heart and mind for ever after.
I want aware of the theme ahead of time, but afterwards I heard a few variations on the same theme that I used.
I make a point of not glorifying war, and instead expounding what a bloody waste it all is.
