Oh Christmas Tree!
Unbelievable weather this morning! It was very cold and wet on my walk to work and the last mile was walked in a blizzard! The flakes were huge.
The tree opposite the club looked most festive and I got a buzz of Christmas excitement!
Then the day began; one member had been admitted to hospital overnight and a second really didn't want to get out of bed (I don't blame him on a day like this!) I was two down and then a wife turned up, believing her husband was walking behind her, only to realise he wasn't by the time she arrived! So she was in a paddy, worried he would get on the bus to Melksham without her. Poor woman had to go back into the storm and look for him. Happily, half an hour later, they returned and he had a lovely day.
The daughter of the gent that didn't want to get up, popped in with a slab of coffee and walnut cake. As we had a birthday to celebrate today, the cake was most welcome and was soon adorned with candles.
People are very kind.
I enjoyed today. It was very good fun. (The walk home was not!)
