The country in the city...
This is a daily sight for the good citizens of Auld Reekie, but for those people who have never visited Edinburgh, this is Holyrood Palace with the Queen's Park as a backdrop.
I reckon that Edinburgh is fairly unique in having an extinct volcano, masquerading as a mini-mountain, within 15 minutes walk of the city centre. Arthur's Seat isn't that big, but provides a great short climb for anyone wanting a fabulous 360 deg view of the capital city and the surrounding area.
Holyrood Palace is Queenie's wee hoose in this part of the world - her main Scottish residence being the Balmoral estate in the Highlands.
That's my shift finished for the week - yippee.
