Headed to Las Vegas!
Sunday
Having arrived in Salt Lake City yesterday morning, today we were off again. Since Jen is off for the whole week, she thought it would be nice for the three of us to head to slightly warmer climes for a few days, returning to SLC on Thursday. Jason is staying behind, and being the chief cook, will be cooking Thanksgiving dinner as we return, though it won’t be the traditional Thanksgiving dinner of roast turkey! We set off at 10 am. Navigation was simple - South on I-15 all the way, a distance of about 420 miles. Jen and Roger shared the driving, while I sat in the back, and read my book, and took the occasional photograph - the top one, with snow-capped mountains in the background, being during the first part of the journey, while the bottom one was taken as we were getting closer to Las Vegas. We stopped for lunch at Cedar City, at a western Mexican restaurant. Unfortunately we arrived about the same time as a group of about sixteen high school students returning from Arizona. Also, being a Sunday, some places were closed, so this place was crowded, and our stop took longer than expected. We finally arrived at our accommodation in Las Vegas, a very nice Air BnB, late afternoon. Having unloaded the car, we went out to pick up a few things for dinner.
Thankful today for safe travels
