Early Christmas

After well over a year my mother came to visit us. In the interim we've been visiting her.  But now the house works are nearing an end (with a long snagging list) and the house is slowly getting back in order (at least on the ground floor) the visit from my brother and his wife have allowed her to be brought up to Edinburgh.  The trip is not that far but as she heads towards 99 she does not like going too far.

She has decided to spend Christmas Day at home.  So today was an opportunity to test out the ovensand have an early Festive meal. We spared ourselves the Christmas lights (well, most lights - we had a token small tree) but otherwise had the turkey (see extra) and trimmings. And the Christmas cake as in the blip.

A good day and everyone headed back home not too late.

Allowed me to attend a lecture at our church by Professor Robert Hillenbrand on on the Bible in medieval Persian book painting.  Fascinating.
