Pumpkin Picking
Today was all about pumpkins.
Rather than our usual last minute dash to Tescos to buy our 2 for £3 pumpkins we decided to go and pick our own.
The local Facebook group is full of crazy loons spouting crazy looniness much of the time but it is useful for finding out about things going on locally - like the fact that the Scouts come and collect your Christmas tree, times of firework displays, when roads are closed, and when Subway are doing two for one!
Someone posted the other day about a local Pick Your Own Pumpkin place just up the road so we thought we'd give it a go.
It was ace! If you ignore the eye-watering prices £8 each for ones the same size as the Tesco ones and as they were not still attached to any vines there's every chance they had actually come from Tesco and been strewn about the field!!
But the Little Misses loved choosing their own; finding the perfect one, so it was worth every overpriced penny!
And of course they loved emptying out all the gloop and carving them and turning off all the lights to admire their handiwork. Brilliant!
