The Chill of November

I woke up this morning to the sound of carollers - with Christmas and Hogmanay looming, it's easy to forget it is not yet Winter. When I took this photograph, however, there was a crispness to the air and a scent of wood smoke. As I walked along Nicolson Street the other day, a stillness fell so all that could be heard was the chattering of pedestrians. Autumn was taking its last breath.
