Observation

Back into the hospital with Adam today. First up was an ultrasound on his hand. To be honest, I didn't fully understand everything they were telling me (why do all doctors do that?) but the general idea was that it seemed to pretty mundane/ordinary soft tissue inflammation.
At that point I thought we were pretty much done, but that's not quite how it worked out. Not at all. We went back into the ER ward, where he was then visited by just about every doctor in the hospital (certainly seemed that way) while they tried to work out what the heck was wrong. During that process we discovered that since yesterday he has a rash developing on his arms and legs, and that his knee and ankle are also really swollen. On top of that his back is really sore. Unfortunately, the combination of symptoms wasn't enough to form a definite diagnosis, so the decision was taken to keep him in overnight for observation. This photo was taken around the time they took the second set of blood samples for tests. He now has two sets of taps/valves in his arm!
