Ted at the Samaritans!

Ted is not depressed or suicidal but he joined me when we went to collect my other half after his two hour duty there. He does two, two hour duties every week.
He has been a volunteer 25 years and I was a volunteer for 18 years.
It isn't a silly thing to say but I enjoyed it, talking but mainly listening to people who were going through a bad time and sometimes did feel suicidal.
Yesterday's two hour duty he took 3 worthwhile calls at lunchtime, you wouldn't think it in the middle of the day would you as night time is usually the worst time. I found it sad when people were ringing in the middle of summer during the day and feeling very low.
Anyway it makes you appreciate your own life and I am glad things are fine for me at the moment. ( A bit if a serious blip and words today)
