Mended!

Finally I’ve got around to fixing the field gate where we usually walk. Some time ago the closing catch failed meaning that when you pullled it back the whole rod came out and I found it extremely annoying. Funny how little things really get to you or me anyway. So I decided that as no one else was going to mend it I would. It only involved drifting out the old failed rawl pin, finding an exact sized washer and large split pin and reassembling. The spring had been found and placed in a twig adjacent to the gate. So now we are a properly closing gate again. Public spirited or what.....
