Bird on a Wire

I had an early start this morning as I was in work for 8.45 am,  and a bit later Alan went into Brighton and then came to meet me from work.  Luckily the weather had improved and it's been a lovely sunny day with not a cloud in the sky.

This afternoon Tamzin & Ray drove down to meet us for lunch at Whitedliffs Cafe.  It was lovely to see them both and catch up as the last time we saw them was at Tam's party in Cornwall.  After we'd eaten, we were offered complimentary chocolate cake - it was our waitress's birthday yesterday and her daughter is one of the chefs there and she'd make her a massive cake, so they were offering the leftovers to customers.  It was very nice!  We  went for a stroll along the undercliff walk to Rottingdean, called in to see Elif in her shop, and then we took them to see the poppy installation and Kipling's Gardens before heading back to the beach to watch the sunset.  This little robin seemed to follow us through the gardens and posed very nicely for me - it was only when I uploaded the photo that I noticed he has a deformed beak which makes him look quite sad :-(

We ended our afternoon back at Whitecliffs Cafe where Tam and I had cocktails, Alan had a glass of wine and Ray had more cake!  A couple of ladies set up in the corner of the cafe and started playing a guitar and violin.  They were really good, and as we were leaving, Julieanne the owner said that they'd only come in for a coffee and asked if they could play as they had their instruments in the car.  I think they my be signed up to do gigs.

We're home now and looking forward to a night in front of the TV.  Thanks for coming to see us, and thanks for the drinks and the lift home!

I’ve added a group selfie to my extras which was going to be my Blip until Mr Robin made an appearance.
