Planning
Today Lex and I sat down to talk about Thanksgiving dinner, and who will prepare what. She always does the turkey and stuffing, and a wonderful cranberry-orange relish. Manda does dessert - this year a special raspberry cake she is making and a pecan pie. Sarah does a wonderful corn pudding. I always make tzimmes - this year, I'm going to make it in the crockpot. Bruce will contribute a small pumpkin pie, since he and I are the only pumpkin fans. Cousin Diane, who is a sort of vegetarian, usually brings salmon. There will be ten of us altogether, so it will be a crowd with lots of good food.
Bruce has purchased a condo in Ferndale, just north of Bellingham, so this move continues to go remarkably smoothly (he sold his Atlanta condo in three days, his car will be arriving Monday) and we are happy for him, and glad to have him home after so long away.
This being Flower Friday, I stopped at Sky Nursery to see what I could find. There's not much at this time of year, but there were lots of beautiful cyclamen.
