Conestee Nature Park
My hiking friends Louise and Linda went with me today to visit Conestee Park near Greenville. We were amazed at the amount of damage the rains from the two hurricanes caused at the park in addition to the heavy rains we had the last five days. Some of the boardwalks were coated with a thin layer of mud and one viewing area over the marsh had mud on the signs which were six or more feet above the water line. So much needs to be done here to get the wildlife habitat back where it was.
We did see some ducks, geese, a heron and many birds. Had to post phone photos as I did not bring my laptop.
Tomorrow is another walk in the mountains to a waterfall. It will be freezing cold in the morning but we are ready for it.
A beautiful day today for a three mile walk in the woods.
