Akaroa

We headed to the Banks Peninsula near Christchurch and stopped in Akaroa after another beautiful, winding and slightly scary drive. We walked down into the town from the campsite where all was sunny and we searched for an ice cream.

By the time we'd finished our ice cream a huge cloud had appeared over the horizon which we raced back to the van. We arrived back in the nick of time before there was a huge downpour, which cleared in the evening, only to start up again at about 4 in the morning waking us up with it's force as it rocked the van.
