Sorry Mum!

My mum Irene passed 7 years ago, she was 72. Every year on this day we take dad to the crematorium, place some flowers and my job is to pick up a little can of her favourite tipple Bacardi & cola. Well, could I find one this year ? No! A quick stop at an M&S food shop at a garage en route to Falkirk and the closest they had was vodka & tonic. She would have hated it! Sorry mum, will get it right next year.

We all had a sip, grimaced, poured the rest, laughed and hugged in the autumn sunshine. She would have been proud.
