Lake Tekapo

We went to the top of Mount John to take some photos as it yesterday's grey weather had been replaced by sun. I think there's some kind of mineral from the rocks in the water that makes it such a beautiful blue colour.

Quite by chance when we got to the top there was a lot of activity and it turns out there was a partial eclipse of the sun by the moon, which only happens about once every 30 years!

We had a look through a solar telescope and could see the moon in front of the sun and little flairs coming off the edge of the sun.
