Just when you think you are finished!!

WARNING  -  WARNING (reminds me of Robby the Robot in 'Lost in Space')
Read below about the type of bed base shown in the picture.

Last night we finished off doing the bedroom and made the bed up beautifully.
Marlane had ordered a new bed base just two days ago, plus a new mattress, and we were expecting delivery next week.
Knock Knock on the door and a truck had arrived with the mattress!
Changed the mattress on Julia's bed and remade the bed with all the bits and pieces, quilt etc.

Knock Knock, another truck, all the way from Yorkshire, with the new bed base. Lovely driver who enjoyed a cup of coffee and half a dozen shortbread biscuits but also carried the heavier than normal bases up the stairs for us. Not supposed to do that unless we had paid for that service apparently. He said he'd rather have a few minutes chat and nice cup of coffee.

So, we then had to strip Julia's bed so that we could replace the base with Marlanes bed base, which meant stripping her bed again and lifting the new mattress off after having just put it all on.
Remade Julias bed after taking her bed base into the garden for demolition.

Put the new bed base together, not too much to do to be honest but luckily the driver had warned us (WARNING WARNING time) to make sure the bases were on their side so that the hydraulic lift system opened against the resistance of the carpet. Many a bloody nose has been had by it flying open as there is no weight on it.

We heeded the warning, got them open and in place, put on the retaining clips and the screw bolt to keep the tops together, and remade the bed yet again.

All I've got to do now is break down the old base and take it, and all of the plastic packaging, to the recycling centre.
